PMI's PMP® Credential - Training Objectives

Course Objective

Mosaic's is one of the world's most experienced PMP trainers, our first course was conducted in 1999. PMP course designer Patrick Weaver, has been a PMI member for more than 25 years and is a former Director of the PMI Melbourne Chapter. The course contents have been validated by Dr. Lynda Bourne, Lynda was the first person to be awarded a Doctor of Project Management world-wide and is a former PMI Melbourne Chapter President.

Our PMP exam prep courses are based on the PMBOK® Guide with extensive supporting materials, start from $1200+ GST for our Mentored Email™ course, and are focused on achieving a first time pass.

The examination for PMI's PMP credential is based on the PMP Examination Outline. Our PMP exam prep courses cover the full spectrum of learning needed to succeed in the exam based on a detailed understanding of the PMBOK® Guide and the interpretation of its processes preferred by PMI. The key difference between our courses is the method of delivery and the way we engage with you as a trainee, not the course content.  We guarantee to keep working with you until you pass the examination (see our blog on guarantees).

Mosaic's PMP courses are pre-approved by PMI as delivering appropriate course contents and 35 Hrs of training.

Learning Outcomes

Students will acquire the necessary knowledge and understanding required to successfully pass their PMP exam.

Mosaic's courses are specifically designed to equip trainees with the necessary skills and knowledge to pass a difficult, multi-choice examination, most people also acquire significant useful project management knowledge to apply in the workplace. The course framework is based on the PMBOK® Guide and the new PMP role delineation Study.

Key Deliverables

The course will:

  • Assist you to achieve PMI accreditation.
  • Assist with obtaining PMI membership (if required).
  • Provide the required 35 hours of accredited project management training to apply for the examination.
  • Provide a framework of information by way of references and proprietary materials to allow trainees to acquire the PMI specific knowledge required to pass the examination.
  • Provide a structured framework to test trainees’ knowledge on a progressive basis against PMP examination standards - you will answer hundreds of exam style questions!
  • Provide an examination specific focus to the training (ie how to pass the examination the PMI way!!).
  • Provide one-on-one feedback regarding performance in each knowledge area to allow trainees to focus on areas requiring improvement.
  • Assist with registering to take the PMI examination.
  • Provide on-going support through to the examination.
Note: Advanced standing can be negotiated with many Universities for PMP certification. Candidates are advised to check with Charles Sturt University (or the University of their choice) to confirm their entitlements.

PMP Eligibility Requirements

A summary of the requirements for admission to the PMP examination is set out below, the full requirements are set out in the PMI Certification Handbooks.

A PMP candidate is required to have completed 36 months of experience working as a project manager or project team leader - AND - 35 contact hours of formal project management training (completing one of Mosaic's PMP courses will satisfy the training requirements). Potential candidates must also agree to abide by the PMI Code of Ethics [View PMI Code of Ethics].  Full details of the PMP eligibility requirements are on our PMP Application Requirements Page.

The supporting documentation required by a candidate to apply for any examination is:

  • Experience verification form(s) meeting the requirements above AND
  • Proof of having successfully completed the required number of contact hours of project management education.

PMI reviews and/or audits all Certification applications. During the audit process, PMI requires formal verification of all information you have provided, by your employer(s) and schools. This is a very formal process designed to maintain quality in the Certification Program. If incorrect information is found during the audit process, you will have your Certification or eligibility revoked.

PMP training courses offered by Mosaic and other R.E.P.s [see more on PMI Registered Education Providers] are pre-approved by PMI for the designated Contact Hours in fulfillment of your PMP eligibility requirements. The eligibility of contact hours from other training sources are the responsibility of the PMP candidate and will be determined on a case-by-case basis through the application audit process.

If you are not a PMI member and intend joining; complete your PMI application first, then apply for the PMP exam - PMI membership is not required to start any of our courses.
