Index Tutoring typically forms part of an education program, University Lecturers 'tutor' students. Tutoring tends to be focused on teaching, or enhancing taught, skills and knowledge. Coaching is focused on competency and skill development. All professional sports teams have a 'coach' focused on developing team members and helping them reach their full capabilities. Project & Program Management Coaching focuses on enhancing the ability of project and program managers to apply PM skills effectively to help them be successful in the workplace. Mentoring is a more complex process and relationship. The skill of the Mentor is to help unlock the complex factors needed to allow the Mentee to grow within his/her self, develop creative solutions, and find new ways to succeed from within themselves. Frequently the Mentee has a similar level of knowledge and experience to the Mentor but needs an independent third party to talk through issues and to explore options and new ideas with; using the combined depth and breadth of vision of both the Mentor and the Mentee to create new insights and knowledge. Mosaic's Project and Program Management Mentoring and Coaching is designed for working project and program managers who feel they need assistance to reach their maximum potential. Dr. Lynda Bourne only accepts a limited number of coaching or mentoring assignments at any one time to ensure the delivery of value to each individual client. |

Personal Mentoring and PM Coaching |
Coaching is a way in which a project manager can
benefit from alternative ideas and opinions, and the reasons behind
them, from an experienced coach and mentor. Mosaic's coaching is
mind-opening, not instructional. Through sharing your coach's ideas,
you become better able to make your own good decisions. One-on-one
coaching and/or mentoring is a very effective way of developing your
talents, we focus our coaching on people who are managing projects or
programs but
have not gained much experience of the complexities of different
project situations. Mentoring can be highly beneficial to experienced
managers who appreciate the usefulness of talking through
current and potential issues with an experienced peer within a
confidential relationship.
Every assignment is customised to meet the specific objectives of the Protege (or Mentee)!
The time spent providing support to the Protege by the Mosaic Mentor and Coach is carefully planned and managed to deliver optimum results.
Typical arrangements for a personal Project Management Coaching / Mentoring assignment are:
The Mentor and Protege determine their expectations of the relationship. The Protege should have a limited number of clear objectives in mind, typically less then four. The mentoring process usually involves:
The cost for Project and Program Management Coaching and Mentoring services provided to individual Proteges by Dr. Lynda Bourne (excluding travel and accommodation) is typically $220 per one hour session. Technical coaching in specific project management skills provided by other Mosaic consultants (eg scheduling) will be quoted, depending on the requirements of the Protege.

Remote Mentoring Option
| Remote
mentoring services are offered where face-to-face mentoring is not
possible. This option requires more work by the Protege, particularly
in developing and maintaining a reflective diary.
If this option appeals, review our 'remote mentoring guidelines' and then contact us at training@mosaicprojects.com.au to discuss your specific needs. |
